New York & New Jersey LLCs
We file your Articles, handle New York's publication requirement, get your EIN, and set up the tax side correctly from day one. The CPA who forms your LLC is the one who files its returns.
What we handle
Tell us a little about the business.
Electing S-corp treatment can cut self-employment tax once profits are there, and it adds payroll. We run your numbers before you choose.
Publication, the annual LLC filing fee, and NYC's Unincorporated Business Tax all catch new owners by surprise. Not ours.
Bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax and your returns, from the same CPAs who set the LLC up. No hand-offs, no re-explaining.
Within 120 days of forming, a New York LLC must publish a notice in two newspapers chosen by the county clerk, once a week for six weeks, then file a Certificate of Publication with the state. Skip it and the LLC's authority to do business is suspended. Newspaper costs vary a lot by county, so we tell you the cost up front.
Filing the form is the easy part. The decisions that cost money are tax ones: whether to elect S-corp treatment and when, whether NYC's Unincorporated Business Tax applies, New York's annual LLC filing fee, payroll, sales tax and books. We set those up with you, and we're the firm that does your returns afterward.
Sometimes. Once profits are high enough, paying yourself a reasonable salary through an S-corp election can cut self-employment tax, but it adds payroll and a separate return. We run the numbers for your situation before you file anything.
Yes. We have an office in Freehold and work with owners on both sides of the river. New Jersey has no publication requirement, but it has its own registration and annual report.
Yes. We regularly catch up missed publication filings, change tax elections, and take over bookkeeping and returns for existing LLCs.
